I am tagging a document for accessibility. When I use Acrobat 9 to tag the document it will read the running heads even though I’ve tagged those elements as artifacts. When I use Acrobat 8 to tag the document it gives me Unicode errors (that I don’t get with Acrobat 9). I am unable to pass the document on to the customer if there are Unicode errors in the document.
Any idea why the Read out Loud feature in Acrobat would be reading the text that is tagged as an artifact?
I don’t often use the read out loud feature, so I don’t know why it is reading elements you’ve marked as artifacts. You might have more of a sense about whether or not the file will be read properly in a screen reader by saving it as a text file and seeing if the artifacts are showing up in the text file.
